What exactly is a portal?

A private area of your own, at your own web address, that people sign into. You decide what goes in it, who can see each thing, and how it looks. It’s the site you’d otherwise brief an agency to build.

Do I need a developer to set it up?

No. Everything is done from the dashboard: domain, branding, content, portal navigation, forms, tiers, permissions. There’s nothing to install, nothing to host, and no code to write or maintain. If you’d rather not do it yourself, free setup support is included in every plan.

How do people get access?

However you want. Open registration lets anyone sign up and get in straight away. Or ask them to apply first, read what they’ve sent, and approve or decline with a reason. Either way, approval puts them on a tier that decides what they can see, and you can switch between the two whenever you like.

Can I block someone without deleting them?

Yes. Switch a person’s access off and back on whenever you like, and their record and history stay intact. Declining an application can do it automatically.

Does it work for companies rather than individuals?

Yes. An organisation account groups several people under one shared account with its own owners and members: a client company, a member firm, a building. You can ask for agreements once per organisation instead of chasing everyone in it.

Will it look like my own site?

Yes. Connect your own domain, set your brand colours and typeface, upload your logo, and customise your navbar, pages and footer. Add any information you like, including links to your website and social channels.

What kind of content can I add?

You can add custom pages with rich text, headings, colours, embedded images, maps, file attachments and FormaPortal forms. You can build FAQs with multiple questions grouped together, and post announcements with or without an expiry date. For collecting responses, an advanced form builder is included. Each of these can be set to public or private, or restricted by the visitor’s plan tier.

How do I create and manage events?

Create event groups, such as webinars, in-person events, or a specific city’s events, then add your events within them. Set up multiple ticket types with different prices, capacities and times, such as Early Bird tickets. Once published, all events and tickets appear on your portal so attendees can view them. Attendees can see their own tickets, and you can see everything that’s been purchased.

Can I integrate with other systems?

Yes, integrations are available. If you don’t see the one you need, just reach out, it may be part of a custom package or already on the way.

Do I get notifications from the system?

Yes, as much as you need, without the spam. You’ll be notified about items waiting for your review (such as onboarding requests or domain verification), form submissions if you choose to be, and event ticket purchases.

What record do I get of what people agreed to?

Every acceptance of your terms or privacy policy is stored with the date and where it came from. Submissions keep their answers as they were given, so editing a form later doesn’t rewrite what someone already told you. Update a policy and everyone affected is asked again.

Do cheaper plans have fewer features?

No. Every plan includes the core product, your own domain and the approval workflow. Plans differ by capacity (contacts, organisations, seats, storage) and by the level of support. For a limited time, the first three months are free, a good chance to work out what fits you best.

Can I get my data out?
